Our Services
Home Study for Adoption Purposes
$2,000
A home study is required in all adoptions for New Mexico and Texas. It is a very detailed report about you and your family. It goes over your upbringing, family, relationships, finances, pets, children, fertility status, community supports, etc. It includes background checks and references. It can be a very overwhelming process, but I will be with you every step of the way! Home studies typically take 2-3 months to complete. Afterwards, I provide you with two original sets of your home study. Travel fees may apply. International home studies may incur additional fees.
Adoption Counseling
$75 per session
Adoption counseling includes, but is not limited to, relinquishment counseling for parents, adoptee counseling for adoptees ten years and older, step-parent adoption counseling, and couples’ adoption counseling. These types of adoption counseling are designed to meet the requirements set forth in adoption statutes. After your session, I will provide a report to your attorney/agency. Travel fees may apply.
Visitor Services
$400
In the State of New Mexico, if you are looking to be a Guardian or Conservator for an incapacitated person, the Court will assign a Visitor to your case. As a Visitor, I visit the alleged incapacitated person and the person(s) interested in serving as his/her Guardian or Conservator. Afterwards, I provide a report to your attorney for the Court. Travel fees may apply.
Home Study Update
$500
Home studies are valid for one year; a home study update will be required to keep your home study current until the finalization of your adoption. For an update, your background check is redone. You will also provide documentation of any updates, such as updated pet vaccines, proof of a pay increase, etc. The home study update report is provided to your agency/attorney. Travel fees may apply.
Post-placement Services
$500
Once an adoptee has been placed in your home, the post-placement period begins. During this time, I will regularly check on you and the adoptee to help ensure the success of adoption. After each visit, I will provide a report to your agency/attorney. At the end of the post-placement period (which is typically six months), your attorney will file for the adoption to finalize. Travel fees may apply.
Consultation
Fees vary
Your initial consultation is free, as are consultations with any paid service. However, if you only need consultation as a stand-alone service, then a fee will be decided that meets your needs for time and topic.
